Tim practices primarily in the area of corporate and securities law. He acts for both issuers and underwriters in respect of initial public offerings, secondary financing, mergers and acquisitions, and all dealings with regulators including stock exchanges and securities commissions. Furthermore, his practice involves asset acquisitions, dispositions, general commercial law and various energy law matters.

Tim received his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) (Economics) from the University of Manitoba in 1997. He then went on to receive his MBA from the University of Alberta in 2000 and also completed the Canadian Securities Course (Honours) in 2001. Tim received his Bachelor of Laws in 2001 from the University of Alberta. After articling with a large Calgary based international firm, and a secondment with Imperial Oil Resources Limited, Tim was admitted to the Alberta bar in 2003. Prior to joining Burstall Winger LLP, Tim worked as legal counsel to a Merchant Bank.

Mr. Haney is a member of the Securities Law and Business Law subsections of the Canadian Bar Association.
