Bob's area of practice is income taxation law, in which he has specialized since 1974. Bob has advised numerous corporations, income trusts and individuals on a wide variety of income tax related matters. In his practice, he has dealt with diverse businesses and transactions, including equity and debt financings, mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations and restructurings. He has also dealt extensively with the Canada Revenue Agency in connection with advance income tax rulings, technical interpretations and the resolution of income tax reassessments. In 1978, Bob was a Founding Partner of the tax law firm of Felesky Flynn LLP, where he practiced for 27 years before retiring in 2005.

Bob was the Founding Editor of the Canadian Petroleum Tax Journal and has been the President of the Canadian Petroleum Tax Society and the Calgary Scout Foundation. He has completed the Directors Education Program of the Institute of Corporate Directors (of which he is now an examiner) and is entitled to use the designation: "ICD.D". He is also a Director of several public and private entities.
