Mr. Verbuck practices primarily in the areas of securities and corporate finance, as well as general corporate and commercial law, with a particular interest in clean technology and carbon emissions. He acts for both issuers and financial advisors in respect of equity and debt securities financings (including initial public offerings and secondary offerings), corporate reorganizations, mergers, acquisitions, dispositions and general corporate and commercial matters. He has significant experience with the Canadian securities law regulatory regime and all dealings with regulators, including stock exchanges and securities commissions. His practice is focused on advising start-up and junior private and public companies, private equity firms and other financial professionals through all stages of a business life cycle from initial organization through potential ultimate sale. Before joining Burstall Winger in 2002, Mr. Verbuck practiced with a national law firm in Toronto.

Mr. Verbuck is active with the Volunteer Lawyers Service. He has also been a speaker at the TSX Venture Exchange Success Workshop and participates in Pro Bono Students Canada and the CBA Mentor program. Mr. Verbuck has travelled extensively in five continents and is fluent in Russian.

Mr. Verbuck is a member of the Securities Law and Business Law subsections of the Canadian Bar Association. In addition, he is the Corporate Secretary of several private and publicly traded companies.
